Trade fair appearance without waste: battenfeld at K 2022 with recyclable CERAMIN® flooring

Prime example of circular economy thanks to cooperation with CLASSEN

Düsseldorf/Kaisersesch, October 18, 2022: K 2022, the world's largest trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, begins in Düsseldorf on October 19. The battenfeld-cincinnati Group, one of the oldest mechanical engineering companies that manufactures extrusion systems for the plastics industry, will also be there. The company has been pursuing a consistent sustainability strategy for years. This also applies to its trade fair presence in Düsseldorf. For the approximately 350 square meter stand, the choice therefore fell on the CERAMIN Boden der CLASSEN Gruppe.

Perfect alternative to harmful PVC floor coverings

As recently as June, battenfeld-cincinnati took the floor out of the extensive CERAMIN Sortiment ausgewählt und sich für das passende Dekor “Vevey” entschieden. Die Produktion der 350 von CLASSEN im Rahmen der Zusammenarbeit zur Verfügung gestellten Quadratmeter erfolgte im September, die Lieferung und Verlegung auf der Messe Düsseldorf Anfang Oktober. Nach Messeschluss wird der CERAMIN The soil is then dismantled, packaged and transported to the CLASSEN Group's main plant in Kaisersesch. Here, the soil is crushed and turned into new CERAMINgranulate is extruded so that new flooring can be made from it without any loss of quality. A prime example of resource conservation, sustainability and the circular economy in the flooring sector. Many areas of application are still dominated by PVC-containing design and vinyl flooring, which is problematic in terms of production, use and disposal.

100 percent recycling without compromising on quality

The CERAMINThanks to its robustness (service class 34 / AC6), this floor is particularly suitable for trade fair and store fitting as well as for the commercial and residential sectors. It is healthy to live on, moisture-resistant and very easy to clean. The design is based on local wood species and, thanks to the digital printing process, features 21 different planks. For battenfeld-cincinnati, a business partner of the CLASSEN Group since 2019, it provides the perfect basis for successful trade fair business. “We know from experience how much waste is generated at trade fairs,” says Angela Kohlmeier, Head of Marketing at battenfeld-cincinnati. “The fact that a large part of our exhibition stand can be recycled so easily and to such a high standard is fully in line with the sustainability principles to which we are committed as a company.”

Technology “Made in Germany” thanks to strong partners

With its machines, battenfeld-cincinnati is not alone in making an important contribution to this pioneering example of a fully functioning circular economy for the industry.

Leistritz Extrusionstechnik GmbH is another important partner of the CLASSEN Group exhibiting at K 2022. The machine manufacturer from Nuremberg supplied the extruders required for the production of the floor panels and was also involved in the design and commissioning of the entire system. “It makes us particularly proud to have been involved in a plant that produces sustainable products 'Made in Germany',” says Matthias Schmidt, project engineer at Leistritz, at whose trade fair stand this project therefore also plays a central role.
