Invitation to the commissioning at the Swisttal site
HC Plastics GmbH invites you to the commissioning of the new recycling plant at the Swisttal-Ollheim site. The newly founded company is a joint venture of the two family-owned companies W. Classen GmbH & Co. KG, leading manufacturer of laminate flooring as well as PVC-free, recyclable plastic flooring, and Hündgen Entsorgungs GmbH & Co. KG, operator of a recycling park with technical facilities for the recovery of recyclable materials.
The CLASSEN Group and Hündgen are ushering in a new era of plastics recycling with the opening of the plant in Swisttal. For the flooring manufacturer from the Eifel region, high-quality PP recyclates are the basis for the production of its CERAMIN floors. Hündgen's expertise in the recycling of secondary raw materials provides the perfect complement. Both companies are combining their many years of experience and sustainability expertise in HC Plastics GmbH, which was founded in 2021. The cooperation is based on the motto "Recycling meets Industry, Industry meets Recycling".
For the family-run CLASSEN Group with its approximately 2,000 employees, responsibility for people and the environment is one of its core values. With CERAMIN, the company has developed a polymer-based material that forms the basis for PVC-free, extremely robust wall and floor coverings. All CERAMIN products have been certified with the renowned, independent "Blue Angel" environmental seal. Throughout Germany, the company has a production capacity of almost 20 million m2 for the internationally marketed high-quality plastic floors. In addition to the use of recyclates, CLASSEN's main concern is to ensure the complete recyclability of CERAMIN floors and tiles. In the future, the secondary raw materials used will mainly come from the new plant of HC Plastics GmbH. For CLASSEN this is an important contribution to independence along the entire value chain.
A covenant beyond the life cycle

The waste management company from Swisttal is a technology leader in the field of recycling management, in which material cycles are closed as far as possible by making waste available to the economy again as secondary raw materials. For almost 30 years, the company has specialized in sorting packaging waste, which is then processed into industrial primary products in its own recycling facilities. "Together with the CLASSEN Group, we will usher in a new era in plastics recycling with the opening on November 28," said Christian Hündgen (Hündgen), managing director of HC Plastics GmbH. "Both family-owned companies are thus underlining their claim to be technology leaders and important driving forces for their respective industries."
