Rethinking sustainability: CLASSEN inspires with product premieres at BAU

Munich, April 25, 2023. The CLASSEN Group brought innovative design, sustainable flooring and product innovations to BAU 2023. As one of the world's leading manufacturers of laminate flooring and PVC-free wall and floor coverings, the family-owned company and its products play a leading role in circular economy and sustainability for the entire industry. This was also reflected in the booth concept.

The floor covering of the trade show booth was made of the company's own material CERAMINⓇ. This makes it not only robust but also completely recyclable. Unlike conventional trade fair flooring, the CERAMINⓇ floor is not subsequently disposed of in the waste incineration plant or landfill, but is 100 percent processed into new flooring at the CLASSEN Group's plant. The exhibition stand itself will be set up in the showroom of the headquarters in Kaisersesch after BAU. Also in the sign of the lastingness the family enterprise did without catalogs. Instead, the trade fair stand worked exclusively with QR codes.

Unprecedented flooring

With Manor®, the flooring manufacturer demonstrated its technology leadership at BAU: In contrast to conventional herringbone designs, the first herringbone collection from CLASSEN does without left and right planks. This eliminates the need for double stock-keeping at the retailer and enables convenient and fast installation without the risk of confusion. The innovative product met with particularly great interest among visitors to the trade fair and is convincing thanks to its easy handling.

The new Nuva collection was also able to inspire. The further development of the proven CERAMIN® products is characterized by a milled bevel in the wear layer and a variety of XL formats. The in-house digital printing process makes a wide range of decors possible. The product range is based on the company's own material and, like all CERAMIN® products, is guaranteed PVC-free, sustainable and 100 percent recyclable.

CERAMIN® Flex also celebrated its premiere at BAU. The dryback alternative from CLASSEN is particularly attractive for the contract sector and is characterized by the healthy living material. The product will be available from the fourth quarter of 2023. At its booth, the company also presented new decors for CERAMIN® Tiles - the sustainable alternative to ceramic and stone tiles already established in the market. The tiles are ideal for wet rooms and weigh up to 60 percent less than conventional ceramic tiles. This makes the product particularly attractive for DIY enthusiasts and craftsmen.

Attention to detail and innovation at your fingertips

The new products, above all Manor® and CERAMIN® Flex, which were presented to the public for the first time, were able to shine at the trade show. The detailed and lifelike designs of the CLASSEN products invite visitors to touch them. BAU was perfectly suited to vividly present the high-quality floor coverings to visitors from all over the world The CLASSEN Group considers the trade fair a complete success and has firmly scheduled the next BAU to inspire the industry with sustainable product innovations there as well.

Our material CERAMIN®

CERAMIN® consists mainly of natural mineral filler and polypropylene (PP). In turn, more than 65 percent of the plastic content is made up of recycled materials. This makes the floor and wall coverings healthy for the home, 100 percent recyclable and a sustainable alternative to PVC flooring, ceramic tiles and natural stone. Thanks to their robustness (usage class 34 / AC6), CERAMIN® floors are suitable not only for commercial and residential applications, but also for commercial areas with high usage intensity. Also because they are resistant to moisture and very easy to clean.
