Under the motto "Your Home. Your CASA." the CLASSEN Group presented its new CASA laminate collection at the beginning of the summer. The development focused on the versatile resilience of the flooring for carefree living in modern households. Now CASA is being expanded with a new collection. Classico includes a total of six new decors. The special feature here is that CLASSEN is thus launching the first 7 mm laminate flooring with a water-resistant installation system.

Around 12 months after the ground-breaking ceremony, HC Plastics GmbH yesterday opened one of the most modern plastics recycling plants in Germany at its Niederzissen site. In future, around 15,000 tons of plastic waste per year will be prepared here for further processing in industrial processes. By recycling polypropylene packaging film, which was previously mainly incinerated, the company is setting new standards in plastics recycling. Mayor Petra Kalkbrenner and other representatives, including from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, were impressed.  

HC Plastics GmbH invites you to the commissioning of the new recycling plant at the Swisttal-Ollheim site. The newly founded company is a joint venture of the two family-owned companies W. Classen GmbH & Co. KG, leading manufacturer of laminate flooring as well as PVC-free, recyclable plastic flooring, and Hündgen Entsorgungs GmbH & Co. KG, operator of a recycling park with technical facilities for the recovery of recyclable materials.

K 2022, the world's largest trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, begins in Düsseldorf on 19 October. The battenfeld-cincinnati Group, one of the oldest mechanical engineering companies manufacturing extrusion lines for the plastics industry, will also be there. The company has been pursuing a consistent sustainability strategy for years. This also applies to its trade fair appearance in Düsseldorf. The CERAMINⓇ floor from the CLASSEN Group was therefore chosen for the approximately 350 sqm stand.

It is not uncommon for many sustainability efforts to turn out to be greenwashing, lip service or a real farce. This is especially true for manufacturing and industry. The sustainability report of the CLASSEN Group, leading German manufacturer of floor and wall coverings, which has now been published voluntarily for the first time, documents that there is another way.

With its Ceramin® Tiles collection, the Classen Group has created a completely new tile category. The healthy and 100 percent recyclable alternative to ceramic tiles and natural stone saves several thousand tons of CO2 per year through the use of recycled materials. What also makes the tiles particularly attractive for DIY enthusiasts and craftsmen: Ceramin® is comparatively thin, significantly lighter than ceramic tiles and therefore very easy to install. The new collection will be presented at the end of September on the occasion of the ceramics and bathroom trade fair Cersaie in Bologna, but can already be purchased from selected specialist dealers.

With its laminate plant and more than 800 employees at the Baruth site, the Classen Group is one of the largest employers in the region. Anyone who has always wanted to see the production in the world's most modern plant for laminate flooring in operation will have the best opportunity to do so on September 17.

CLASSEN makes very good things even better: the manufacturer of the tried-and-tested Visiogrande laminate tiles with their extraordinary decors now offers four new exciting designs and increases the suitability for everyday use with the Megaloc aqua protect quick installation system, which is now used for all decors.

The CLASSEN Group, which operates the largest contiguous laminate plant in the world in Baruth, now uses up to 120 million litres of rainwater a year for its production. That is equivalent to the content of 40 Olympic swimming pools. In this way, the company is relieving the municipal water supply in an area of Germany that has been severely affected by drought in recent years.
